The Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) has appointed Professor Paul Smith AM as Interim Registry Clinical Director of the world-renowned AOA National Joint Replacement Registry (AOANJRR).
The Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) has appointed Professor Paul Smith AM as Interim Registry Clinical Director of the world-renowned AOA National Joint Replacement Registry (AOANJRR).
In addition to his longstanding orthopaedic clinical leadership in Canberra, Professor Paul Smith has been heavily involved in orthopaedic research with particular areas of focus on joint and implant wear, implant materials development and image registration for hip and knee kinematic and outcome analysis.
Professor Paul Smith is the immediate past Chair of AOA’s ACT branch and currently serves as Scientific Secretary. He is the immediate past Chair of the ACT branch of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons; he also serves as Chair of the AOANJRR Editorial Review Committee.
AOA President Dr Annette Holian said Professor Smith’s expertise will mean the Registry will be in safe hands as the global search for a full-time Registry Clinical Director progresses.
