Congratulations to AOA member Donald Howie on being recognised in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours. Prof Howie was awarded an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO) recognition ‘’for distinguished service to medicine in the field of orthopaedics, and to professional medical organisations.”
Prof Howie co-founded the Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry (#AOANJRR) in 1997, was a founding member of the Australian and New Zealand Orthopaedic Research Society (#ANZORS), and was foundation president of the Arthroplasty Society of Australia in 1993-1994.
